Twenty years ago, a twenty- something group of artists was assembled by White Horse Theatre Company to bring George Furth & Stephen Sondheim’s musical, Merrily We Roll Along to life. The show was a critical and commercial success with six Non Equity Jeff Nominations and two Awards. Chris Jones of the Chicago Tribune remarked “…at the end of this affordable, likeable show, it’s all about young kids dreaming of becoming the ‘names in tomorrow’s papers.’ Some names to watch from White Horse are here in today’s.” Now, with the young cast in their forties they’re reuniting for one night only to revisit this material with twenty years of life experience under their belts. A special event, not to be missed.

Chicagoland’s resident Piano Man comes to Theo: Alex Newkirk will be tickling the ivories this spring, and accompanying anyone who wants to come in and sing showtunes! The bar will be open, so you can kick back and listen to new & established singers, or bring your own sheet music to take advantage of the open mic and sing with Alex yourself! He can play anything! (No, seriously, anything.) Come try out a new song or sing an old favorite in a supportive atmosphere!
